"Natural Horsemanship" does this mean that I will have to ride without a saddle or bridle?

Not at all, Natural Horsemanship is based on developing trust and understanding, this is acheived on the ground before you venture on board. Riding without a saddle and bridle is the ultimate level of understanding between horse and rider. Here we do not expect you to do anything you did not feel completely at ease with.

On what basis will I be allocated a horse?

Horses will be allocated on the basis of height, weight and of course compatability and experience

What items of clothing shall I bring with me?

This is a family run establishment and we like to create a relaxed informal atmosphere, whatever you would wear around horses at home and feel comfortable in, is fine. Bear in mind that it can get really hot here in the summer months and sunglasses and suntan lotion would be advisable.
Bring a hard hat or helmet with you, sensible boots and comfortable light weight leisure wear. Remember to pack your swimwear for the pool, which is heated outside the summer months.
Occasionally it does rain so it may be wise to pack a light raincoat.

What riding experience do I need to have?

If you are emotionally and physically fit enough to cope with walk, trot and canter great! if not we will aim to get you there!! If you do want to go out on a trail ride you must be confident in trot and canter.

Do I look after my own horse?

Our horses live out as a herd. You are more than welcome to join in with any of the activities that are necessary to keep them happy and contented in this environment, e.g. fly spraying, grooming, feeding, washing down after play, the choice is entirely yours.
